Fifty Seven Roasters started with a ten-kilo drum roaster, a borrowed garage and a stubborn belief that coffee should taste like where it came from. We buy in small lots from farms we can name, roast every week, and ship within three days so what lands on your counter still tastes like the roast day.
Tea came a little later, and for the same reason. We could not find a chai or an Earl Grey we were happy to put our name on, so we started blending our own. Everything in the tin is whole leaf, real spice and nothing artificial.
We are a small team and we like it that way. Every bag is packed by hand, every gift box comes with a handwritten card, and if you email us about a brew you are struggling with, a person who roasted the coffee will answer.
How we source
We pay above fair-trade minimums for every lot and publish the farm, region and process on each bag. Where we can, we return to the same producers year after year so they can plan ahead and we can watch a coffee develop.
